Thespian-Educator-Activist

Liv Loupe

“Steal like an artist.” This often-heard phrase, conjuring an image of both frivolity and severity, encapsulates my praxis. I’m a collector of techniques, games, sounds, movements. Not with the intention to duplicate but to mould into my own dramaturgical Frankenstein. This marvelous monster, born of the expertise of of my unaware teachers, can be spotted stomping alonf the edges of my activist pieces or rollicking through my comedic plays. As both the student and the teacher, the knowledge-thirsty creature and the ignorant creator, I demonstrate how my education is twofold: both being inspired by other artists and taking note of how others respond to my successive teachings.
I invite you into my lab of gathered treasures. There can be no hierarchy here because I’m learning from you as much as you’re learning from me. And I implore you to steal from me so that I can later steal from you. In the hope that from these thefts, something truly terrific emerges.
